Oceanfreight Import Operator – Middlesex

Shift pattern - Monday-Friday

Location: Middlesex

Salary: Up to £38,000 (DOE)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ocean Freight Import Operator to join a well-established freight forwarder renowned for their expertise in air, road, sea, and warehousing services. As an Ocean Freight Import Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in our team, ensuring that every shipment is handled seamlessly. You’ll oversee the end-to-end process of ocean import logistics, from tracking shipments and managing documentation to coordinating with customs and resolving any issues that arise. Responsibilities

  • Independently handle shipments in the role of Ocean freight Imports in accordance with quality standards, including documentation, booking, shipment control, transport insurance, accounting, and customs handling
  • Provide customer support in conjunction with the Sales Department, including occasional client visits when required
  • Handle complaints in line with BIFA Terms and Conditions, including correct KPI recording
  • Communicate with our UK, Overseas offices, and agents
  • Check job file reporting, accuracy, and profitability
  • Focus on ensuring the most cost-effective service solutions are being utilized without risk to service levels

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Ocean freight Import operations
  • Knowledge of BIFA Terms and Conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Familiarity with customs handling and transport insurance
