Mechanical Project Manager
Our client is a leading M&E company specializing in large-scale mechanical and electrical services, with a strong focus on commercial developments. Their portfolio includes high-rise office buildings, commercial complexes, and large-scale heating replacement projects. Known for their technical expertise and commitment to quality, they deliver complex installation, maintenance, and emergency services across the sector.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of mechanical projects within commercial developments, specifically focusing on large heating replacement projects. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Working closely with the client’s engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors, you will ensure the seamless execution of all mechanical aspects of the projects.Large Heating Replacement Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Project Lifecycle Management: Plan, organize, and manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from initial design through to project completion.
2.
Budget and Schedule Oversight: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful delivery within agreed parameters.
3.
Collaboration: Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate project activities and ensure that all mechanical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards.
4.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all client specifications, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
5.
Cost Management: Manage project costs in conjunction with the client’s Commercial Manager, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
6.
Health and Safety: Uphold health and safety regulations by performing regular site inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
7.
Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, attending project meetings, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project.
8.
Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress through regular reviews and address any issues or delays that may arise.
9.
Design Oversight: Oversee the preparation of designs and quotations for commercial heating, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
10.
Reporting: Provide detailed progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or certifications.
* SMSTS/SSSTS certification – Essential.
* Experience working on commercial mechanical systems, including heating, plumbing, and ventilation.
Key Skills:
* Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and close projects successfully.
* Leadership and communication abilities essential for managing teams and client relationships.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, crucial for handling project challenges and ensuring effective solutions.
* Strong commercial awareness, ensuring project budgets are managed efficiently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Experience:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in the commercial sector. Large Heating Replacement Projects
* A successful track record of delivering mechanical projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
* Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
Hours
Monday - Thurday
Special Requirements:
* Full UK driving license – Preferred.
* Flexibility to work outside standard hours to meet project deadlines.
