Job Title: Temporary Communications and Engagement Specialist Scientific Sector
Location: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days working remotely)
Contract Duration: 5 months
Start Date: Immediate
Are you an experienced communicator with a knack for strategy, a talent for relationship building, and a proactive approach to managing projects? We are looking for a skilled Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our client for a five-month contract. This role will support various high-impact communication and engagement initiatives, helping our client deliver clear, accessible information to stakeholders across the scientific sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborative Development: Work closely with teams across the organisation to shape media-facing lines and draft approach planning documents on high-interest topics.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly meet with internal teams to capture engagement activities and support effective information sharing.
* Database Migration & Management: Lead the transition of a contacts database to MailChimp, enhancing the communication reach and subscriber management.
* Editorial Guidance: Apply the client’s style and standards guidance to refine and improve written materials, ensuring inclusivity, quality, and adherence to style guides.
* Audience Growth: Actively promote direct communication channels to stakeholders, aiming to build and diversify the subscription audience.
* Network Development: Identify and develop new delivery networks and amplify partnerships for key message distribution.
* Project Support: Provide ongoing support for other critical communication and engagement projects, including engagement mapping and implementation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Self-Starter and Collaborative Communicator: Confidently engage and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.
2. Content Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to grasp new topics quickly and produce relevant, engaging content tailored to different audiences and platforms.
3. Technical Proficiency: Prior experience with MailChimp or similar subscription management platforms is advantageous.
4. Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review and enhance written materials, ensuring high standards and inclusive language aligned with client style guidelines.
