Job Description
Established more than 50 years ago, Natta Building Company Ltd specialises in Building and Civil Engineering projects across the southern half of the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join our commercial team as part of the Natta group. You will be working with the Commercial Director and Estimating Team in ensuring that the competitive costing of services provided by Natta meet the clients required scope of works.
Main Responsibilities
* Responsible for researching and assessing contract information in order to prepare accurate tender responses
* To prepare accurate pricing requests to suppliers and sub-contractors
* To conduct accurate measurement, take offs as required in line with standard method of measurement techniques and create bill of quantities to reflect the projects requirements.
* Produce accurate prices from the tender information received including bills of quantities, drawings and specifications.
* To prepare, process and submit tenders for contracts, calculating the costs involved in line with Natta’s risk requirements and client expectations.
* To produce Tender programmes to support submissions if required.
* To incorporate and provide for costs associated with health and safety requirements, inflation, project timescales and allowances to cover contingencies and project risk.
* To keep up to date with industry developments and to gather relevant data from the widest possible range of sources in order to prepare accurate estimates.
* To report on technical and commercial data during the tender adjudication process.
* To work with Quantity Surveyors and Buyers to aid in establishing the most appropriate risk assessed pricing for materials and sub contract orders.
* To collect and review quotes from materials suppliers and sub-contractors.
* To manage individual time to ensure tenders are priced in line with client requirements.
* To assess and analyse the level of pricing risk on tenders submitted.
* To prepare and submit tender deliverables as per the clients requirements.
* To precis for the CD the form of contract proposed and examining clauses included especially in relation to the proposed retention percentage, defect correct period, bond requirements, liquidated damages.
* To conduct site visits as appropriate.
* To assist the QS in monitoring the stages of a project to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts.
* To promote and abide by the rigorous Health and Safety standards expected by Natta and its clients.
Requirements
At least 4 years’ experience in a construction industry estimating role
Experience of Fonn or similar document control systems
Experience of Valesco Estimating System or similar
Project management skills
Excellent maths and IT skills
Ideally degree educated
