Job Description

Job Title: Planner
Location: Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset
Working Hours: Hybrid working is available, but weekly on-site presence is required. Attendance at meetings and workshops in Bristol is also necessary. Standard hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday.

Overall Purpose of The Role
Our client is currently engaged in a significant energy project in the Southwest (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks, and infrastructure as part of one of the UK's largest ongoing projects. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join their team.

The ideal candidate will bring experience with reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings and have a solid understanding of the NEC contract environment.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities
As a member of the planning team:

Programme Development: Assist in developing the delivery programme, working closely with the Senior Planner, delivery teams, and supply chain to establish the optimum methodology, sequence, timing, production, and resources.
Programme Updates: Support updates on programme performance throughout the construction period.
Mitigation Recommendations: Suggest mitigation measures in response to potential critical programme slippage.
Compliance: Ensure programmes comply with our client's procedures, including WBS, resource, and cost coding alignment.
Risk and Opportunity Analysis: Contribute to the development of risk and opportunities, including QSRA analysis.
Scope Management and BIM Alignment: Ensure the programme reflects scope management requirements and aligns with BIM.
Performance Reporting: Monitor and report performance, including Earned Value and KPIs.
Change Impact Assessment: Contribute to assessing the impact of changes on time and resources.
Support for Senior Planners: Provide assistance and support to Senior Planners and Planning Leadership as needed.
Best Practice Sharing: Share best practices and drive innovation within the planning team.
BIM Coordination: Support BIM Coordinators in meeting project requirements.
Lean Visual Programme Metrics: Ensure lean visual programme metrics are established to assist the Project Team in timely project delivery, improving productivity, performance, and safety.
Requirements
Qualifications: A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject is desirable.
Industry Experience: Experience in planning services within large, complex construction environments.
Software Skills: Proficiency in scheduling tools and software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or ASTA.
Project Controls Knowledge: Familiarity with aligning programme, cost, budget, risk, and change.
Documentation Knowledge: Understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents, and specifications.
Programme Management: Knowledge of resource-loaded programmes and Earned Value Management.
Planning Methods: Competence in planning, programming, and progress monitoring techniques.
Risk and Opportunity Management: Knowledge of risk and opportunity management in planning and programming contexts.
Delay and Change Management: Understanding of events that trigger, and methods to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement.
Construction Methods: Knowledge of construction methods, plant, equipment, and labour requirements.
Certification: Relevant CSCS Card.
