Job Description
Role Overview: The Product Manager will oversee the lifecycle management of hardware for Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, guiding the company through its evolution from an R&D startup to a global industry leader. This senior role emphasizes strategic planning and hands-on management to ensure the DAC hardware meets rigorous standards for performance, scalability, and market readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of DAC hardware, from initial R&D and prototyping to full-scale deployment and post-launch optimization. Develop and execute product roadmaps aligned with engineering, regulatory, and market requirements.
- Cross-functional Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to translate DAC technology into robust, market-ready hardware solutions.
- Customer-Centric Product Refinement: Serve as the primary liaison between commercial teams and product development, leveraging customer insights to drive hardware improvements and ensure the DAC systems address real-world needs.
- Data and Performance Stewardship: Manage hardware-related data and performance metrics, ensuring clear communication of technical specifications and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Hardware Advocacy and Product Positioning: Champion the unique technical features and advantages of the DAC hardware within the organization, ensuring alignment between customer needs and product capabilities.
- Scalability and Production Strategy: Design and implement scaling strategies for DAC hardware production, including supply chain management, manufacturing logistics, and techno-economic assessments.
- Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead collaborative efforts with a Product Analyst and cross-functional teams to ensure synchronized contributions across development and operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hardware product management, especially for advanced or large-scale systems.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced, complex environments.
- Demonstrated success working with technical teams, executive stakeholders, and external partners.
- Excellent technical communication, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DAC or other climate-related hardware applications, especially in a B2B context.
- Background in climate tech, clean energy, or sustainability-oriented hardware development.
- Experience with line or matrix management, ideally within a startup or rapidly scaling environment.
- Technical expertise in engineering or environmental technologies.
