Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Projects (UK) - London based (Hybrid) Circa £70,000 + Benefits


In partnership with an established and growing construction company, Blackfield Associates are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our London-based client, specialising in the management of Data Centre projects across the UK.


The successful Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering end-to-end project management services, starting from RIBA Stage 3. Your primary objective will be to ensure that the project meets the client’s brief while delivering on time, within budget, and to the required quality and system resilience standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all project aspects, managing client relationships and ensuring effective communication between all parties involved.
  • Establish a clear brief with the client and define the roles and responsibilities of consultants and specialists.
  • Develop and maintain the project’s master programme, monitoring progress throughout.
  • Prepare and manage project control documentation, including budgets, risk registers, and schedules.
  • Lead and coordinate the design team, focusing on risk and value management, and ensure the successful delivery of design stages 2, 3, and 4.
  • Develop a comprehensive procurement strategy for the project.
  • Oversee the administration of the building contract, ensuring that all instructions and certificates are prepared and issued as required.
  • Chair progress and coordination meetings to maintain the project’s momentum and address any issues that arise.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Chartered (RICS, CIOB, RIBA, MICE) or working towards chartership would be advantageous
  • Proven project management experience, particularly in the large-scale, technical construction or data centre sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and instructions.
  • A track record of managing multiple projects and client relationships with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Project and/or Asta PowerProject, is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to take projects from inception through to completion, including early-stage de-risking and post-completion closeout.
