In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Support successful design & implementation of automation for process or utility systems. Provide input, review & approve design & requirement specifications. Secure proper & efficient implementation & qualification. Support production & other stakeholders. Improve reliability of the process control systems to meet current & projected customer, business & regulatory requirements through the following activities: activities: people focus, equipment focus & standards "Gatekeeper."

Essential Functions

Lead troubleshooting for automation-related downtimeDevelop & manage plans to maintain & improve process control systemsSupport & manage implementation of system & interfacesSupport & manage corporate, product supply, DFP, site, stakeholders & departmental initiatives/projectsSchedule & execute plans in coordination with production schedulesDrive technical clarifications with suppliers & internal stakeholdersOperate as automation lead or resource on projects that involve process control systemsOwn self development & initiative to understand the site process control systemsAdhere to the automation standards & establish new automation standards when necessarySupport audits & inspectionsFunction as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned areas/technologiesCoach & train colleagues & stakeholders in relevant areas/develop training material when necessaryUtilize the appropriate cLEAN® tools when relevantManage assignments within compliance with a quality mindset that focuses on risk management & mitigationEnsure quality of system adhere to company standardsAdhere to the change management standardsOther accountabilities, as assigned

Physical Requirements

May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering/related field or equivalent combination of experience & education requiredMinimum five (5) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems requiredExperience troubleshooting automation & control systems & batch processes preferredExperience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferredKnowledgeable in SCADA (i.e. iFix, Ignition, FactoryTalk), PLC & HMI (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, etc.), historian/data collections, Oracle, MS SQL preferredProgramming & configuration of PCS or DCS systems preferredProven expertise (e.g. project management) in planning/organization & project execution, follow-up & completion preferred
