Job Description

Contract Position: Duration (through December 31st)

Pay: $21 - $23 Hourly

Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm

Position Type: Fully On-site

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs complex, journey-level consultative and technical assistance work in the field of human services. This role requires familiarity with various government benefits and non-profit programs designed to support older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. Responsibilities include handling phone calls, emails, and in-person consultations to assist individuals in need of resources, conducting intake assessments, providing application support for long-term services, and connecting clients with relevant community resources. May collaborate with other agencies and service providers to ensure comprehensive support. The position requires professional, sensitive, and timely communication with individuals seeking assistance. Occasional training support may be required. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responds to incoming inquiries via phone and email, ensuring prompt and efficient communication aligned with organizational standards.
  • Assists walk-in clients or scheduled appointments, offering guidance on available services and resources.
  • Conducts needs assessments and connects individuals to appropriate resources by evaluating their situations, providing technical assistance, and referring them to partner agencies as necessary.
  • Supports clients in completing applications for long-term support services and other relevant assistance programs.
  • Accurately documents interactions, assessments, and follow-ups within the required timeframe, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintains a comprehensive database of resources to ensure up-to-date information is available to those seeking support.
  • Engages in outreach activities, delivering presentations to community groups to promote awareness of available services.
  • Assists with surveys to measure satisfaction levels of the programs and services provided.
  • Participates in special projects and initiatives to enhance service delivery and community engagement.
  • Provides training and support for other staff members and volunteers.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a consumer assistance or social services role is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products is required.

Education

  • Graduation from a high school or equivalent is required.

Preferred

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in delivering phone-based or in-person social services assistance is preferred.
  • Background in supporting older adults or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience using data tracking software in a consumer service setting is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social services and consumer support practices.
  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and standard software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
  • Capable of accurate data entry while engaging with clients.
  • Effective in building collaborative relationships with other professionals to facilitate service access.
