Job Description

TAR Safety Specialist


Location: Commerce City, CO


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily:

  • Update/inform contractors of any new information or policy changes
  • Assist TA group with TA preparation and evaluation activities and be an active member of the TACT (TA Coordination Team)
  • Review Enablon for contractor H&S incidents, share with contract and TA personnel
  • Other health and safety related duties as required

Weekly:

  • Check in with resident and TA contractors on active work scopes and other issues
  • SWP Review Email
  • Field CCA/SWP audits
  • Weekly check in meetings with Safety staff personnel
  • Attend TA/Project related meetings and provide impactful safety input

Monthly:

  • Attend contractor safety meetings
  • Attend/support Safety Pro/Co-Op
  • Maintain OSHA statistics for TA group, present information when requested


Daily Field Work Requirements:

  • Perform field audits on TA contractors with active permits
  • Assist TA group with H&S Plan development, evaluation of work packages, hazard evaluation/mitigation, etc.

As Needed Field requirements:

  • Assist contractors in communications with operations and maintenance.
  • Coach contractors in safety processes and procedures.
  • Become a CCR Safe Work Practice SME and deliver the knowledge to field and office personnel.


EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of OEMS
  • OSH PSM Standard, OEMS for contractor management
  • Good working knowledge of ISN Contractor qualification program
  • Knowledge performing contractor qualification audits
  • Knowledge of contractor onboarding training requirements
  • Knowledge of deviation and compliance management processes
  • Gap analysis of contractor safety programs vs company programs
  • Knowledge of incident investigation process
  • Strong knowledge and experience in OSHA, ANSI, API, NFPA and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Working knowledge of ACGIH and IH responsibilities including badging, calibration, etc.
  • Familiarity with refinery processes and associated hazards.
  • Understanding of potential chemical hazards and their physical properties.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of workers, from hourly to upper management
  • Strong experience with auditing job sites, safe work permits, safe work practice and PSM compliance
  • Review TA contractor H&S plans
  • Review/update TA H&S plans for the execution manual
  • Strong LOTO and equipment isolation knowledge and approved work practices
