Job Description

As a CNC Programmer/Operator at Brekhus Tile & Stone, you will be responsible for developing and implementing precise CNC programs for advanced machinery to shape and finish stone countertops according to specific design specifications. This role involves programming and operating CNC machines, selecting appropriate tools, and monitoring production to ensure quality and accuracy. You will collaborate closely with design and production teams to optimize workflow and ensure efficient use of materials and may also visit job sites to create precise templates for custom installations.


Responsibilities


  • Program and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and fabricate stone countertops, ensuring precision and accuracy in all processes.

  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Company stone products and procedures through on-the-job training.

  • Obtain and sustain comprehensive knowledge of the Company's fabrication and manufacturing processes and machinery.

  • Develop understanding of the production scheduling process and client project needs.

  • Participate in Production team meetings, collaborate and communicate with leadership and other key departments regarding project status updates, foreseeable and current production concerns, and other pertinent information.

  • Become proficient with the applications and systems used for manufacturing, production, and scheduling at Brekhus Tile & Stone.

  • Develop working knowledge of continuous improvement, efficiency standards, and OSHA safety standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • 3-5 years of manufacturing/custom shop/fabrication work experience or in a related field required.

  • 3+ years of experience working with CNC machines preferred.

  • CAD/CAM experience preferred.

  • Stone/Granite/Countertop or construction experience preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task, adapt and remain flexible in a fluid work environment.

  • Excellent prioritizing, time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with exceptional professional etiquette, strong critical thinking, and negotiation skills.

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT


This position requires working with stone and equipment that require personal protective equipment to be worn, including hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The duties of this job are performed in either machine shop and/or at jobsites, thereby experiencing moderate level of noise due to machine equipment. Some position requires traveling between jobsites and Brekhus when needed. Brekhus requires all employees who drive their personnel or a company vehicle in the routine performance of their jobs to have a valid Driver's License. They must also provide proof of valid insurance. May require extended hours to meet customer's needs.
