Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.

Our company is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our team in Lakewood, CO on our 1st Shift. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating CNC machines and be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines, verifying dimensional characteristics of parts, meeting expected cycle times and production schedules, and completing all required paperwork.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Operate CNC machines from provided work instructions from work order or set up personnel

- Verify dimensional characteristics of parts

- Meet expected cycle times and production schedule

- Completion of all required paperwork

- Verifying dimensional characteristics of parts

- Perform first piece inspection

- Select correct tools and make necessary adjustment including speeds and feeds.

- Produce high quality machined parts.

- Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding

- Measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications.

-Ability to effectively manage multiple machines

Requirements

Requirements:

- Previous CNC Operator experience is required; 3+ yrs

- Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean manufacturing techniques is preferred

- Knowledge of machining principles, GD&T print reading, measuring tools is preferred

- Toolroom experience a plus.

- Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings

- Ability to perform basic math including working with and converting between fractions, and decimals.

Skills:

- Proficient in operating CNC machines

- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints

- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify dimensional characteristics of parts

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production schedules

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to stay organized and ensure that the work area is clean, safe and orderly

- Ability to communicate and have technical discussions in English

- Ability to complete all required paperwork accurately and efficiently

Ray Range: $22 - 25.50 per hour depending on experience

Shift: Monday - Thursday 6am - 3:30pm, availability for overtime
