Description


Autocam Medical is a global contract manufacturer of orthopedic implants, spinal implants, precision instruments and orthopedic cutting tools. We offer a value-added approach to high-precision manufacturing, with specialties in CNC milling, turning and cutter grinding.


We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set-up and operate single and/or multiple spindle machines, including monitoring and control of the quality of machining processes by utilizing process control tools and to maintain the production processes and work within the expected quality standards and efficiencies that are established for the product line.


Job Responsibilities


  • Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, such as Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise part production.

  • Select and install tooling, work holding, and fixtures appropriate for each job.

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot to maintain optimal machine performance.

  • Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines within the manufacturing environment.

  • Document work performed and maintain comprehensive production records.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Machinist in a production setting, particularly with Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including tool selection, speeds, and feeds.

  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

  • Adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment with changing priorities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring.

  • A dedication to workplace safety.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery
