Senior Design Engineer

The Company
A leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the team.
The Role
To provide design engineering know-how, with regard to product design and development, utilizing appropriate and up to date software to complete time-based projects from basic specification information through to product completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate within the Design and Engineering team to develop and enhance highquality products, both new and existing, from concept through to product introduction, aligning with the company’s project implementation plans.
* Oversee design activities for assigned projects, supporting every stage of the design process—from initial briefing and validation through to cost tracking, schedule management, and final production.
* Specify materials and manufacturing processes for component production. Prepare exploded view drawings, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and spare parts lists for newly designed products.
* Create design criteria and drawings for custom products tailored to customer specifications.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within the design engineering team as needed.
* Engage with regional offices and sales teams to offer product application support and technical advice.
* Demonstrate strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills. Selfmotivated, well-organized, and able to effectively manage individual workloads. Continuously improve processes, systems, and product designs where applicable.
* Oversee the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
* Fulfill additional duties as needed and appropriate to the role, ensuring compliance with company policies as well as Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirement
The Candidate
An experienced Design Engineer
Holds an engineering qualification
Experience with pneumatics or hydraulics would be highly beneficial
Able to use 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is advantageous but no essential)
Overseen a small team in previous roles
Been in charge of projects and design changes
