Our Transport Planners are required to own and manage the daily planning for all store deliveries and Backhaul collections including managing communication of the plan to all stakeholders ensuring that this is accurately reflected in the system whilst monitoring performance and efficiency as appropriate. The successful applicant will receive full and in-depth training.This is a 37.5 hour contract and and 5 from 7.. Shifts will typically start from 4am to 6am. and will include alternate weekends.Salary £27,000
How will you contribute?
- Manage all volume through Plan-It system and ensure they are planned into the appropriate routing software and this is communicated to the business.
- Manage resource requests to ensure that all planned daily resource is accurate
- Management of Health & Safety on site includes creating a culture that is H&S conscious and reports accordingly. Drive the use of STAR reporting and awareness to reduce the number of accidents and incidents.
- Ensure reports and details are accurate for the receiving audience
- Financially aware and ensures profitability is maximised by ensuring plans are efficient.
- Manage customer relationships ensuring that communication is good, and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately. Suggesting improvements and working with the Customers team to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure all decisions are taken with full knowledge of the P&L implications to the business and that team are aware of financial performance.
- Successful delivery of operational and service performance in line with Health and Safety excellence and KPIs
- Effective planning and prioritisation skills
- Ability to identify and report issues
- Ability to drive P&L performance to analyse statistics and react quickly
- Previous experience/knowledge of Transport Management systems desirable
- Operationally focused and able to deliver and exceed expectations
- Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office Applications
