The role will include:
We currently have an opportunity for an Archaeologist or Built Heritage Consultant to join our team to contribute to the production of archaeological and heritage assessment work, heritage statements and planning/consenting deliverables, the collation and management of archaeological data, production of heritage gazetteers, and figures to support assessments. In addition the role may involve operating as an Archaeological Clerk of Works (ACoW).
Here's what you'll need- Broad understanding of UK archaeology and heritage including knowledge of key archaeological and built heritage legislation (UK planning framework)
- Demonstrable experience of field archaeological and/or built heritage skills including an understanding of the role of an ACoW - Demonstrable experience of report writing, with use of the Microsoft suite of programs, GIS applications and familiarity with Sharepoint, Projectwise applications;
- Ability and willingness to travel across the UK for the purpose of site and archive/record office visits; this may require periods away from home
- Track record of delivering projects on time and within agreed budgets;
- Knowledge of DMRB and/or GRIP Cultural Heritage requirements.
- Experience of consultation and negotiation with relevant stakeholders e.g . Local Government Archaeological/Heritage officers
- Membership of (or working towards) either the Institute for Archaeologists (ACIfA level) or Institute for Historic Building Conservation
