We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Commissioning Manager - Nuclear Glove Box Test Equipment to join our proactive and innovative team
Manage all activities in line with Company, Customer and project requirements, defines and implements the Commissioning Strategy for the project.
Be the focal point for the Company, Customer and sub-contractor.

This role has been deemed inside IR35
Duration: 12 months
Location: Warrington / Hybrid

The role
As a Commissioning Manager, you will be delivering commissioning projects to meet the appropriate national legal requirements and Client’s requirement specification, the developed technical specifications and applied standards. Provide commissionability input into the concept, detail design and construction processes of nuclear glove box test equipment.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Ensure all activities are planned, assessed and managed so that risks or hazards are adequately identified and controlled to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules and procedures.
Set and uphold standards and expectations in line with Company initiatives such as People Who Do The Right Thing and People Who Lead Safely.
Organise and obtain sufficient resources to deliver the applicable work scope as described in the contract and/or project documentation.
Oversee the implementation of work to ensure that it meets the required technical and quality standards - hence delivered right first time.
Ensure suitable Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Methods Statements etc.) are produced so that supervisors and work teams can be effectively set to work, supervised and are provided with adequate instruction and information so as to complete the work task safely.
Manage and control sub-contractors where applicable.
Review and assess training and competency records of personnel (including those of sub-contractors) to ensure that those assigned to undertake tasks are competent to do so.
Provide regular reports, information and statistics to the Company and/or Customer to demonstrate performance against Safety, Quality, Time and Cost criteria.
Carry out regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules and procedures.
Immediately report any unplanned events or incidents in line with Company and Customer procedures.

Leading Others: Owns the performance and development of their team members, including effective and ongoing communication and feedback.
Leading Resources: Responsible for effective planning and organisation of resources to deliver on customer promises.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Vocational Qualification Level 6 / Bachelor’s Degree / SVQ Level 4.
Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
NVQ Level 4 / HNC-HND / SVQ Level 3 augmented with specific experience.
Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
IOSH Managing Safely.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager in a highly regulated environment e.g. Nuclear, Energy, Petrochem, O&G sectors.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a commissioning position working in a highly regulated environment e.g., Nuclear, Energy, Petrochem, O&G sectors.
Experience in managing a multi-discipline delivery team including completions, commissioning & handovers.
Experience of document management and production of Commissioning documents including STW, FAT & SAT.
Comfortable working with suppliers, partners, clients and stakeholders at various levels up to director level.
Experience of Mechanical Completions systems would be preferential.
Demonstrable experience of managing complex commissioning projects in a highly regulated environment (preferably Nuclear).You will have the following qualifications and experience
Due to the nature of our business, we need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC & DV. A prerequisite for DV is that the applicant is a UK National.
The candidate must be willing to work inside IR35.
The position will be based at Warrington and initially will be Hybrid working but the candidate must be willing to work in Warrington a minimum of 2 days per work and be available for site & supplier ad-hoc visits plus final commissioning on site which would be full time site based.Get in touch now
