Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leading company within the power industry to recruit a Cable Jointer covering various locations across the UK.
The strategically important Cable Jointer role comes with a salary depending on experience, a company vehicle, and a fuel card.

Responsibilities and duties
As the Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for:
Underground cable laying, jointing, and terminations for voltages up to 33kV.
Installing, jointing, and terminating low and high voltage power cables (LV, 11kV, 33kV).
Connecting cables to substations and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Collaborating with project managers, supervisors, and electricians to ensure efficient project execution.
Completing accurate documentation, including job reports, risk assessments, and test certificates.
Adhering to safety regulations and company HSEQ processes, including following DNO/IDNO safety rules.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Existing DNO/IDNO authorisations.
Technical training in jointing and terminations.
Proven experience as a Cable Jointer in the electrical industry.
Certificate in non-licensed asbestos removal.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and proficiency with cable jointing tools.
A valid UK driving licence is essential.
Personal skills
The Cable Jointer role would suit someone who is:
Physically fit and able to work in various outdoor environments.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Willing to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
Salary and benefits of the Cable Jointer role:
Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
Company van and fuel card.
30 days annual leave (inclusive of company shutdown days).
Overtime opportunities.
Annual company performance bonus.
BUPA healthcare (after six months).
Salary sacrifice pension scheme (8% total).
