SEND Learning support assistant
Primary school - mainstream setting
Term time + INSET days;
Working Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm, with an hour unpaid lunch break
Start: ASAP
Do you have experience working with children with special educational needs? Are you calm, compassionate and adaptable?
Career Teachers are seeking dedicated experienced candidates who will work on a 1:1 basis with children identified as having special educational needs and SEMH support. We are looking for staff who will work closely with teaching staff to support the intellectual and social developmental needs of pupils during work and unstructured times.
The successful candidate will need to deliver personalised activities inside and outside of the classroom, which help individuals to meet their agreed provision and targets.
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in an educational setting and working with children aged 4 to 11;
Have experience of working with pupils with ASD or ADHD or emotional behavioural needs;
Have the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and adults;
Have knowledge of how/when best to intervene in children's learning to help them progress;
Have patience, resilience and a passion for the educational needs and development of happy and competent children;
Be able to engage children both inside and outside of learning times and adaptability;
Have knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults in the education sector as applicable to this role; and
Possess a good standard of written/oral English and Numeracy skills.We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting, ideally with pupils with special educational needs
Has knowledge or experience of working with pupils in EYFS / KS1 /KS2
Is committed to supporting children to access all areas of school life;
Understands how and when to intervene in order to help children progress with their learning.We can offer you:
