Job Description
Search are actively recruiting an Estimator in Glasgow for civil engineering projects across Scotland on behalf of one of our key clients who are an established contractor in the civil engineering and energy sectors.
Our client
Our client is a contractor who has been operating for over 70 years across the UK working across a number of Joint Ventures, Public-Private Partnerships and alternative forms of contract on well-known and celebrated projects;
Well-respected and successful, our client has secured a substantial contract and are looking for talented and ambitious individuals to join their team;

What you'll be doing:
The successful Estimator will initially be working in Glasgow on civil engineering / energy projects across Scotland;
Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering all materials, labor, and overhead costs.
Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine the scope of work.
Analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings, and contracts to develop cost projections.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
Track and monitor project costs against the original estimates, making adjustments as needed.
Maintain detailed records of estimates and project changes for future reference.
What you'll need to be successful:
Ideally, the candidate will be degree-educated within civil engineering;
At least 2 years' experience as an Estimator;
Previous civil engineering, is highly desirable;
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
