Job Description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Large Commercial Refurbishment Project - Carmarthen
Contract Length: 4 Months-opportunities to be relocated to other sites is possible
Start Date: Immediate
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days on-site)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client on a prestigious large-scale commercial refurbishment project. This role is with a Tier 1 main contractor, offering a four-month contract with an immediate start. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs throughout the project, ensuring financial control, and contributing to the project’s success. Hybrid working is available, with 2 days remote and 3 days on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all financial aspects of the commercial refurbishment project.
* Handle subcontractor procurement, contract management, and valuations.
* Provide detailed cost forecasting and financial reporting.
* Prepare and agree on final accounts in collaboration with the team.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess financial impact and project progress.
* Collaborate closely with the project team and client to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery.
* Address contractual claims and ensure accurate pricing of variations and changes.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally on commercial refurbishment projects.
* Background working with a Tier 1 contractor.
* Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Competence in cost reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
* Immediate availability and ability to commit to the project for 4 months.
* Flexibility to work both on-site and remotely (2 days per week from home).
