Job Description
Hybrid Quantity surveyor on major civils project.
About the Role:
We are excited to be working once again with one of the UK’s leading construction and infrastructure contractors on a multimillion-pound civil engineering project in Bridgwater. This high-profile scheme involves sheet piling, heavy reinforced concrete (RC) structures, earthworks, and bunding—a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to contribute to a major development.
This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, combining time on-site and remote work. You'll play a crucial part in managing commercial aspects of this challenging project while enjoying a balance of flexibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, submit, and evaluate interim valuations and final accounts.
Track project costs and manage budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
Negotiate and agree on variations, extensions, and claims with clients and subcontractors.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and provide expert commercial advice.
Prepare monthly cost/value reports and forecast project outcomes
Collaborate closely with the project team to meet contractual and financial goals.
Advise on procurement strategies, risk management, and value engineering.
Support in resolving any commercial disputes or issues that arise on-site. Key Requirements:
Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of contract law and NEC3/4 contracts.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Highly organized with strong numerical abilities and attention to detail.
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
