Job Description
We are DRI. DRI is taking a leading role in the energy transition in Europe. Our mission is to accelerate the reduction in Europe’s reliance on fossil fuels, and we have already established a portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects. At the end of 2023 we finished construction of our first solar park and windfarm, which are now exporting power. To have the biggest impact, we target markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, by a team with a long history in successful development and construction of major renewable projects. DRI is now seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agri PV Manager to join our team in Italy. As an Agri PV Manager, you will play a key role in the development, implementation, and optimization of agrivoltaic systems, integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) technology with agricultural practices to maximize land use efficiency and sustainable energy production. What you will do: Manage the design and development of agrivoltaic systems, integrating solar PV arrays with agricultural activities such as crop cultivation, livestock grazing, or aquaculture. Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to identify suitable locations for agrivoltaic installations, considering factors such as soil quality, crop selection, solar irradiance, and land availability. Collaborate with agronomists, farmers, and local stakeholders to assess agrivoltaic potential, address concerns, and develop tailored solutions that optimize land use and agricultural productivity. Support the design of PV system layouts, considering shading effects, crop spacing, irrigation requirements, and compatibility with existing farming practices. Provide technical expertise and guidance on agrivoltaic system components, including solar panels, mounting structures, irrigation systems, and monitoring equipment. Support project development activities, including permitting, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement in relation to the agri Monitor agrivoltaic system performance, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Conduct research and stay updated on advancements in agrivoltaic technology, agronomy, and sustainable agriculture practices. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance knowledge sharing and best practices in agrivoltaics. Contribute to the development of case studies, reports, and publications to showcase the benefits and potential of agrivoltaic systems. What you bring: Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy, preferably related to renewable energy industry. At least 2 years of proven experience in agrivoltaic systems design, implementation, or research, preferably in the renewable energy or agriculture sector. Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop management, soil science, and ecosystem dynamics. Familiarity with solar PV technology, system design principles, and electrical components. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical requirements with agricultural considerations. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Italian, other languages are a plus. Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and the intersection of agriculture and technology. Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, meetings, and project-related activities.
