SRI is seeking committed and passionate professionals to provide critical ECRC Family Readiness Coordination Services to the Navy’s Fleet and Family Support Programs (FFSPs) designed to maximize the well-being of active duty, retirees, civilians (OCONUS) and their families. Overall Contract Overview Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) requires comprehensive services, programs, personnel and administrative support for Fleet and Family Support Programs (FFSPs) located throughout CONUS and OCONUS. The overall goal is to implement and evaluate established services and programs designed to maximize the well-being of active duty, retirees, civilians (OCONUS) and their families. We are required to develop concepts, structures, processes, procedures, and practices for meeting these objectives. The purpose of this contract is twofold: one, to provide global staffing to augment existing FFSP and personnel; and two, to provide FFSP with webinar hosting, production and facilitation services through a learning management system. The primary mission of each FFSP is to assist commands in achieving operational readiness, superior performance, member retention, and a reasonable quality of life for military personnel and their families. Commands and FFSPs share the common goals of keeping individuals and families resilient and strong, preventing individual and family dysfunction, facilitating personal and family self-sufficiency, and creating overall command and community well-being. Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced New Parent Support Home Visitor to provide vital home visiting services to expectant parents and families with children under three years of age. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in social work or nursing and have at least three years of experience in maternal/child health, child development, or public health. Nurses are required to maintain current state licensure. This role focuses on assessing and supporting families to reduce child abuse risk, offering parenting education, and connecting families to essential community resources. You will also play a crucial part in emergency preparedness efforts to ensure military families are ready and supported during crises. Tasks and Responsibilities As a New Parent Support Home Visitor, you will assess, screen, and support parents with children under three years of age, using established Navy screening tools. You will provide home visiting services, utilizing the Nurturing Parenting Program, and refer families to community resources when needed. You will also document all services provided and collaborate with local authorities in cases of suspected child abuse. Additionally, you will participate in emergency response exercises and public awareness campaigns, ensuring all services are recorded and tracked accurately in Navy systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assess and screen expectant parents and families with children under age 3 for child abuse risk using Navy NPS screening tools. Provide home visiting services using the Nurturing Parenting Program for at-risk families. Offer information and referral services to families not at risk for child abuse. Report suspected child abuse or domestic violence to local authorities and Family Advocacy Representatives in compliance with Navy and state regulations. Ensure all home visitation services are documented in the FFSMIS NPS Case Management System. Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and implement emergency response plans as required. Support public awareness campaigns like Ready Navy to enhance family preparedness. Ensure NPS services and emergency preparedness activities are accurately tracked and recorded in the Navy FFSMIS system. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Other Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of child development, maternal/child health, and family dynamics. Knowledge of military and civilian community resources for families. Ability to work independently in a home setting and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with diverse families. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive family information with discretion. Competencies Compassion: Demonstrates empathy and understanding when working with families in need of support. Attention to Detail: Ensures accurate documentation and reporting of all services and interactions. Problem-Solving: Identifies family needs and risks and provides timely and effective referrals to services. Collaboration: Works well with other support agencies, healthcare providers, and military personnel to provide integrated care. Ethics: Maintains the highest ethical standards in all interactions, especially in cases involving suspected abuse or neglect. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in social work or nursing (or equivalent experience in related fields). Minimum of three years of experience in maternal/child health, child development, social work, or public health. Nurses must maintain current state licensure or certification. Experience working with families, particularly those with young children, in a case management or health services role. Knowledge of child abuse prevention and risk assessment strategies.
