LEAN MANAGEMENT / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER Job location: South-East Milan area Overview: Reporting to Program Manager, the selected resource will be accountable for defining and implementing strategies and actions aimed at promoting process improvement and productivity optimization within a well-structured testing, inspection, and certification services lab collaborating with premium OEMs in different industries (Aerospace, Energy/O&G, Life Sciences, Transportations, etc). Job Responsibilities: Implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation, and release to production; Create Process drill down & gap analysis and identify improvement activities to minimize waste in processes/methods of manufacture; Carry out Value Stream Mapping on key processes; Perform root cause analysis to identify failure modes/waste elimination ideas and corrective actions with CFT on key failure modes/waste elimination; Demonstrate effective application of optimum manning in a work environment to carry out improvement activities to minimize waste in a process and/or method of manufacture; Help build and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements); Use specific Virtual Manufacturing analysis tools to support safety, quality, and productivity improvements as required; Lead productivity and equipment improvement activities within a facility; Author final recommendation reports and support in the creation of key specifications for CAPEX and monitor measures to assess the impact; Coordinate in sharing best practices within the community of practice; Obtain agreed estimate times with operators and validate against production requirements; Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for any local process or assist suppliers in creating SOP. Required Skills (Technical Competency): Engineering Degree; At least 5 years experience in a similar role; Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Processes & practices, Method of manufacture, Work study, and Time study; Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Management, Value Stream Mapping, and Continuous Improvement methodologies; General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, PDM, SAP) and plant layout relevant to the business. Desired Skills: Commitment, precision, flexibility, reliability; Excellent documentation and presentation skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent teamwork attitude; Ability to manage complex projects with multiple cross-functional interfaces; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Capable of working with minimal direction; Self-starter with a positive attitude and high ethics; Able to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment, meeting strict deadlines; Innovative, curious, able to deal with ambiguity and motivated to think outside the box; Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from different cultures and time zones; Availability for business travels (short & long term travels).
