YOUR TEAM At Rehab Technologies Lab (https://rehab.iit.it/), we are dedicated to revolutionizing the field of medical robotics to enhance the lives of patients with spinal cord injuries and orthopedic and neurological upper limb impairments. As a Robotics Engineer in the medical robotic field, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining mechanics and mechanisms as well as modeling and controlling prosthetic devices. You will be involved in every aspect of the design process, such as power trains, mechanism design, and simulations aspects, for highly dexterous transmission mechanics and ensuring the continuous integration of mechatronic components across the entire system. You will also evaluate the iterations that the designed objects have with the real world. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure our devices meet the highest safety, efficiency, and effectiveness standards. Key Responsibilities: Design of 3D/2D models of robot parts and assemblies. Development and assembly of robot prototypes. Simulations of mechanisms during its operating range and conditions. Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (electronics, biomedical, robotics, software) to ensure the successful integration of their designs with the rest of the system. This open position is financed by INAIL (Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work). WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE A M.Sc. in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Software/Control Engineering. Mechanism design and construction. Good CAD design skills. Good SW (electro-mechanical simulation): Python/Matlab programming skills. Mechanical parts maintenance with versioning system (Windchill or similar). Good hands-on skills. Good communication skills. Good command in spoken and written English. Simulation experience, preferably in industrial R&D environments is a plus. EXTRA AWESOME Design for manufacturing. Strong problem-solving attitude. High motivation to learn. Spirit of innovation and creativity. Good in time and priority management. Good knowledge of design software (PTC Creo is preferable), other relevant tools are also welcome. Excellent knowledge of simulation software tools is a must (Comsol, Simulink, Mujoco, or other multi-physics software). Experience in the robotics industry. Experience in the design/prototyping of complex medical devices. Proven experience with composite materials and related production issues. Proven experience in the design and simulation of mechatronics systems. Ability to work in a challenging and international environment. Previous experience in working in a team with other Engineers and to organize test/assembly operations made by Workshop Technicians.
