The role: Manage the operations excellence program aligning all the global operations teams on a common process and strategy. Identify, develop and implement processes and tools which drive efficiency through the order to fulfillment process that enable a clear pathway to measurable performance targets. Develop a culture of continuous improvement through training and development. Work with NPD, Technical Design and Supply chain on rationalization and NPD projects to ensure smooth delivery and optimized production outcomes. Responsibilities: Own the operations excellence program ensuring all teams are aligned and have an annual plan that leads to an improvement in the overall maturity of operations at a plant level. Review the end to end process flow related to product delivery and identify and propose improvement projects. Own the Lean tools and processes that are used to develop and improve performance. Provide active governance and support to ensure plans are defined and achieved. Review and propose automation methods and use of new technologies in operations to reduce costs, increase quality and improve productivity. Develop transfer project plans taking into consideration full cost model post transfer and then propose optimized solutions. Manage implementation of these projects by working with the sending and receiving plants and driving projects through to completion. Develop a consistent approach to lean transformation and ensure that all staff participate in and are trained in Lean concepts, DFM, DFA. Requirements: Excellent knowledge of: Lean Manufacturing processes and concepts. DFM, PFMEA. Fabrication, Machining, Welding processes. Assembly in a low volume customized product environment. Manufacturing strategy and process development. NPD implementation. Project Management. Some knowledge/experience of: PCB manufacture and test. Supplier evaluation and selection. Desirable: Solidworks. Experience of working in a phase gate development process. Chinese and Italian Languages.
