Salary – 27k - 35k DOE
Hybrid working style - 3 days office based & 2 days at home
Job Description
an experienced Civils Technician with a strong background in producing high-quality engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of CAD and Civils 3D (or similar software) and be highly skilled in civil engineering design and drafting. General Requirements and Attributes
- HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or similar field
- Working towards Professional Qualifications EngTech
- Relevant engineering and drafting experience (3 Years minimum)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing and producing technical documents including drawings, models, and earthwork quantities.
- Engaging with clients, sub-consultants, and other relevant stakeholders
- Supporting the team with project delivery.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong technical knowledge, including use of industry standard road and/or drainage design software and sound knowledge of current design standards.
- Focus on temporary/enabling works design, undertake due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual optioneering, detailed design both pre and post planning and design and build through construction.
- Road Design to ‘National Road Development Guide’, and Local Authority Standards.
- Obtain appropriate Technical Approvals including Scottish Water, SEPA, RCC and Section 56.
- 2D drawing production using AutoCad
- Civil 3D or similar software – Geometric design (not essential but would be beneficial and training can be provided)
- Proficient in AutoCad and Autodesk Vehicle Tracking.
- Experience in Microdrainage or similar (not essential but would be beneficial)
- Knowledge and understanding of ‘Design Manual for Roads and Bridges’ (DMRB).
- Ability to work as part of an experienced team of professionals
- High standards of written and oral communication
- Good appreciation of project management
