We are experiencing exponential growth in our presence in Canada. In 1998, it was awarded for the construction, operation, and maintenance project for the Fredericton-Moncton Highway. In 2011, it was awarded a section of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway extension, the first modern subway infrastructure project in the city. This project was completed in 2018. FCC Construcción Canadá has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line, together with the GO Rail Expansion-On Corridor Project and the Scarborough Subway Extension Stations, Rail and Systems Project reinforces FCC Construcción’s presence in the Canadian market. Project Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Law Clerk/Legal assistant to join our FCC Canada team assigned to our main office. Reports to: Head of Legal The Law Clerk/Legal Assistant's key responsibilities are: Assist the Legal Department with daily tasks, ensuring efficient time management and prioritization of responsibilities. Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Manage and organize legal files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date, accurately filed and easily accessible. Maintain a document management system. Assist in maintaining and updating corporate minute books and preparing and reviewing resolutions, annual returns, and other corporate filings. Ensure compliance with corporate practices and help prepare board and committee materials. Communicate complex legal information in a clear and respectful manner, ensuring all parties involved fully understand the material. Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements, maintaining the Legal Department schedule to ensure no conflicts. Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook to manage communications, schedules, and document preparation. Conduct legal research on corporate law, regulations, and other relevant legal issues as directed by legal counsel. Prepare research memos and summaries for use by key personnel. Assist in managing the department's communication, including drafting correspondence. Liaise with clients, partners, contractors, and other stakeholders professionally, always maintaining confidentiality and discretion. Handle other administrative tasks as needed to support the legal team. Identify and suggest improvements to legal processes and document management to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assist in the implementation of new legal software and systems to support the department’s operations. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institution. 3 years’ experience as a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant in a Law Firm or in-house with a Company’s legal department, with a focus on transactional support. 3 years of experience in Administrative Role. Strong working knowledge of contract law in Canadian jurisdictions. JOB REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated experience in supporting senior-level legal professionals with a wide range of administrative and legal tasks. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook. Familiarity with legal software and document management systems. Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and diligent proofreading skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex confidential information clearly and accurately. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Highly proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and act independently when necessary. Onsite work is required.
