Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Domestic Student Recruitment. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the recruitment strategies and activities aimed at attracting domestic students to our educational institution. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, relationship building, data analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve enrollment goals. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve enrollment targets while maintaining a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Direct Student Recruitment will work collaboratively to strategize the domestic student recruitment. The successful individual must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and travel for recruitment events . Responsibilities Develop and implement recruitment strategies. Analyze market trends and oversee outreach programs to attract diverse students. Lead and mentor the recruitment team, setting performance targets and fostering a collaborative environment. Build and maintain relationships with high school counsellors, community organizations, and stakeholders. Represent the institution at events and develop strategic partnerships. Plan and execute recruitment events, coordinating logistics and innovating outreach programs. Oversee the domestic application process, collaborating with admissions to review applications and streamline procedures. Track recruitment activities, generate reports, and make data-driven improvements. Collaborate with departments for a coordinated recruitment approach and communicate updates to stakeholders. Stay informed on recruitment trends, attend professional development events, and share best practices. Portray a positive university image, provide advisory services, and train high school counsellors. Guide students through the application process and match them with university offerings. Manage relationships with community partners and ensure clear communication. Research industry trends and provide market feedback. Collect data on target markets and provide management with analyses. Ensure team compliance with university policies and report non-compliance. Represent recruitment in strategic meetings, lead special projects, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The successful candidate will have the following education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field required; MBA preferred. Minimum of eight years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, enrollment management, or systems development. Knowledge of domestic student recruitment strategies, market trends, and best practices in higher education. Good knowledge of the Canadian education system, especially tertiary education, with desired contacts in the local community and with high school counsellors. Familiarity with data management systems and tools for tracking recruitment activities and analyzing data. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with stakeholders. Proficient in strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical reasoning. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment efforts. Exceptional organizational and project management skills, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficient in enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, SYS), databases, spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing applications. Takes a consultative sales approach, aiming for ‘win-win' outcomes benefiting the company, students, and stakeholders.
