Right now, we are looking to hire a Proposal Development Specialist to join our Communications Department, based out of our Calgary office. This position is a hybrid role for local candidates and remote for candidates outside of Calgary, Alberta but within Canada. This position is responsible for the coordination and content development of estimating proposals to support the win rate and success of our estimating function. This role will coordinate all activities related to proposal development, stakeholder mobilization of deliverables, and technical/narrative writing. This role is responsible for meeting the bid proposal timelines and requirements to secure small and large-scale project bids. AS OUR PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO: Oversee, lead, and coordinate the overall proposal process for CDN from start to finish. This includes all activities related to proposal development: ensuring deadlines are met, communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, reviewing the final proposal package and securing final approval. Write proposal documents in line with CDN’s established tone and style of writing, ensuring alignment with the external brand of CDN. This includes writing and editing proposal sections, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with client requirements and collaborating with subject-matter experts within CDN for technical content. Coordinate and facilitate cross-departmental meetings with various stakeholder groups to understand the needs and requirements of the bid, provide status updates, proactively address challenges and opportunities, and ensure a shared understanding of the project deliverables and timelines. Coordinate and organize with other departments to produce their deliverables, as required of the proposal’s design. Work collaboratively with estimators to ensure the on-time delivery of assets and a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work required to submit a completed bid package. Manage a repository of up-to-date documents, statistics, and often-asked questions to improve the efficiency of the bidding process and to ensure up-to-date information is maintained and accessible. Conduct debriefs and lessons learned sessions after proposal completion to ensure continuous growth and development of CDN’s proposal process. Presents trends impacting CDN’s win/loss rate. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Experience working with proposal writing, advancement writing, and/or business proposal writing Acute, honed writing ability with high technical accuracy and competence. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Demonstrated and proven experience to write and present information for a wide variety of mediums and audiences, and on behalf of multiple business stakeholders. Strong technical writing proficiency. Experience managing projects and people toward a set delivery threshold. Experience in project coordination. Proven ability to act positively and efficiently under pressure. Skilled in working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders both in person and remotely. Adept at understanding clients’ needs and goals and translating them into clear content. Capable of multitasking and consistently performing with excellence under tight time constraints. Proficient with software such as Adobe Creative Suite is an asset. REQUIRED ROLE EDUCATION: Related University degree, preferably in Communications, Technical Writing, or English or a combination of formal education and experience. 3 years of experience in copywriting and writing.
