Adecco is currently hiring a full-time highly skilled and strategic Senior SCM Category Advisor to lead and optimize our client’s category management efforts within the Supply Chain function for our client based in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies across key categories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement in sourcing processes. If you have a deep understanding of supply chain management and a passion for delivering results through strategic sourcing, this is the opportunity for you Location: Calgary, AB Shift: Mon – Fri | 8 hrs./day Job type: Long Term | Full-time Responsibilities: Establish strong enterprise-wide partnerships to achieve safety, cost, and performance leadership while aligning with business objectives. Support effective management of services and materials across the value chain, working with agility and urgency to meet business needs. Oversee 15 high-spend subcategories, fostering continuous learning and growth in technical competencies. Champion a high-performance culture, maintaining a positive, constructive attitude while adhering to supply chain standards, corporate policies, and ethical principles. Act as a coach and mentor, driving cross-team collaboration and developing others. Inspire data-driven decision-making through analytics, identifying opportunities for process and system improvements. Advance supplier performance management, ensuring suppliers meet safety and technical standards while building mutually beneficial relationships. Drive compliance with company policies, ethics, and safety regulations, while supporting system integration and continuous improvement initiatives. Leverage market, spend, and performance analytics to inform business decisions, manage risks, and drive value in sourcing and supply activities. Provide expertise in sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and procurement practices, ensuring alignment with business objectives and consistent application of modern sourcing methods for total value creation Qualifications and Skills: Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada Certified SCMP Post-secondary degree in business or equivalent. 5 years of experience in Category management within oil & gas industry is required Category management and management of cross-functional category teams. 8 years of progressive strategic sourcing and procurement experience; preference for history of progressively senior roles. Well Delivery experience considered an asset. Progressive experience in various aspects of upstream oil and gas with experience in implementing alternate contracting models, low-cost sourcing and advanced sourcing levers. Demonstrated experience contributing to high-performance teams; managing both individual and team performance. Demonstrated strong negotiation skills for complex internal and external application. Sourcing expertise with planning, assessing and implementing outsourcing and multi-sourcing delivery models. Enterprise-wide, strategic thinker. Strong analytical skills; able to solve problems through honest analysis coupled with good judgment; initiative and decision-making abilities. Excellent presentation skills; able to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and with different levels of stakeholders. Are you interested in this position?
