Electrical Estimator

Job Description: Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join their growing team. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing the cost of electrical installations for a variety of projects, from new builds to renovations. This role will involve analyzing project blueprints, collaborating with contractors, and preparing cost estimates to ensure successful and profitable project execution. Key Responsibilities: - Review and analyze electrical plans, specifications, and contracts to prepare accurate cost estimates. - Develop and present detailed proposals for electrical projects, ensuring all costs related to materials, labor, and equipment are accounted for. - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to identify project requirements and optimize cost-effectiveness. - Monitor market trends and pricing for electrical materials and labor, adjusting estimates accordingly. - Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor pricing and supplier bids to ensure competitive and accurate pricing. - Provide support during the project handover phase to ensure accurate transition from estimate to execution. - Maintain an up-to-date database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractor information. - Assist in the development of value engineering solutions to improve project efficiency. - Prepare cost comparisons and risk assessments for multiple bidding opportunities. - Participate in pre-bid meetings and project site visits as required. Qualifications: - 3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the electrical contracting or construction industry. - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and codes. - Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. - Ability to interpret complex electrical blueprints and specifications. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors. - Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards. - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently. Preferred Qualifications: - Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Experience with commercial and industrial electrical estimating. - Knowledge of Accubid or similar electrical estimating software is a plus.
