Junior Graphic Designer (Permanent, Full-time) Closing Date: Sunday, October 27, 2024 Location: Edmonton, AB Overview : Are you buzzing with ideas and intrigued by masterfully created brands? Do you have exceptional interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn, develop and grow? Then you will fit right in on the ARTA Marketing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager, Creative Services, this position will take conceptual ideas and create visual representations and support the organization with design implementations across all business functions. This position will work closely with ARTA’s team of graphic designers and be responsible for production design and typesetting, meticulously applying design changes to projects, repurposing creative assets into various sizes and formats, checking the accuracy and quality of files before publication, and leading the creation of small design projects for the organization. Our ideal teammate: is confident and eager to learn, develop, and collaborate welcomes guidance, direction and is not afraid to ask for help is a self-starter who can work independently has strong communication and problem-solving skills excels under pressure with a keen attention to detail will jump in to support the ARTA team however possible What you will do: Create marketing materials, included but not limited to, traditional advertising, digital content (including videos, blog posts, social media posts, and other digital media as applicable), flyers, brochures, event collateral and exhibit resources. Contribute to larger design projects, including ARTA’s quarterly magazine, Annual Report, and Wellness Agenda. Create, revise, and publish ARTA documents, including fillable PDFs. Support digital tasks and resources required to execute the marketing plan, including social media, on Google, and on the arta.net properties. Develop concepts by hand or with software and correct and/or adjust supplied files and images to mandated specifications and colours. Optimize the mix of audience, content, and media, ensuring these maintain the voice and overall brand of ARTA. Work collaboratively with the marketing team, and various internal divisions and departments. Create resources as required by ARTA partners, Committees, Branches, the Alberta Retired Teachers Charitable Foundation, the COO, and the CEO. Perform other reasonable duties as required. What you will have: A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field. Working knowledge of Adobe Cloud CC, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator an d/or Adobe XD. Knowledge of printing processes and colour management. Willingness to learn how to apply design fundamentals to various projects. Experience with video editing in Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects would be considered an asset. Demonstrated strengths in communication; listening; and interpersonal skills. Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools. A high level of attention to detail, as well as project and time management skills. Ability to work independently on a day-to-day basis, as well as the demeanor needed to work in a team. Desire to continue to grow skill set with ongoing education and training. Love of design, art, and all things creative All ARTA employees are required to be fully immunized against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
