As a Senior Software Developer, you will lead the design, development, configuration, and integration of critical digital products. Your expertise will ensure alignment with approved plans and utilize emerging technologies. You'll mentor developers, provide guidance, and maintain quality standards. Your role involves developing components and interfaces and leading Agile teams. You have a passion for exploration within a fast-paced and dynamic environment while being comfortable wearing many hats, learning quickly and leading change in an independent, self-directed manner. In addition, you have strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe. You must understand the architecture, validate the feasibility of the solution and ensure that the solution is compliant with the House of Commons Enterprise Architecture standards. Business analysis, design of new features, development and implementation of the solution, preparing test plans and maintaining and supporting products is part of this role’s responsibility. In addition, you define and document solutions on a variety of projects, its components, and inter-relationships, recommending targeted research and evaluation of technologies. Training and development opportunities Work-life balance /35-hour workweek 4 weeks’ vacation (minimum) Digital Services and Real Property has a requirement of a 24/7 support model and work activities related to the roles may require working irregular hours, overtime and providing on-call support to meet our operational requirements. Qualifications Education : Graduation from a college or technical institute in the area of information technology or other related fields, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in the field of technology. Experience: 5 years of extensive progressive experience in a Developer role investigating, analyzing, and supporting complex digital products; Hands-on experience with Object Oriented Programming languages and Design Patterns such as C#, VB.NET, Java or equivalent programming languages SQL, ASP.Net, WPF, PowerShell Scripting, JavaScript, XML, HTML, Web Services, CSS, LDAP, OAuth 2.0, REST; 3 years leading technical design and architectural discussions; 3 years experience working in Agile methodology, leading scrum ceremonies and involvement in prioritization of Product backlog; 3 years experience leading, planning, and conducting complex projects related to product development; Experience developing, testing, and implementing IT solutions; Comprehensive work experience providing and facilitating discussions and recommendations (orally and written) for implemented and or proposed products and services, programs, initiatives or issues and their mitigation; Experience preparing briefing material and presentations pertaining to technical topics and presenting to colleagues, clients, and management; Experience providing mentoring, training, coaching to colleagues and review their deliverables; Experience identifying, developing, reviewing, and evolving best practices, standards, operating procedures, and processes. Assets : Experience in product development of features, components, and interfaces of the development in one or more of the following areas: ServiceNow, Case Management Platforms, Cloud technologies including Azure cloud provider, SaaS and Virtualization technologies Experience with any combination of the following: Microsoft Azure DevOps, Source Code Management, Build and Release Management (CI/CD), Work Item Management and QA, Microservice Architecture, Test Automation, Implementation of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems; Experience and familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1; Experience using Microsoft Visio.
