Project Manager Location : based in southern Saskatchewan with travel to various sites across Saskatchewan Wage : $90,000 to $120,000 Timeline : full time, permanent Site work (20%) : typically, four ten-hour days, with overtime paid after forty hours Office work (80%) : typically, five eight-hour days, with overtime paid after forty hours Our Team Join Pier Solutions and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering collaborative and innovative bridge engineering and construction services across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Job Description Pier Solutions is growing – we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to lead our operations in southern Saskatchewan. As a Pier Solutions project manager, you will be tasked with overseeing construction projects and providing technical services. This is the perfect job for you if you strive to merge technical engineering and practical construction services. As you grow in your responsibilities, there is an opportunity for promotion to a regional manager. Your responsibilities may include the following: Leading multiple projects at a time, both on-site and from your office. Supporting all aspects of construction work, including: developing proposals for various contract models preparing estimates for quoted and tendered work light on-site labour to assist construction crews managing schedules, materials, and subcontractors aiding in job cost tracking preparing and submitting environmental management plans supporting the safety coordinator in completing daily and project specific safety requirements reporting on project progress, offering viable solutions and opportunities as they arise submitting and tracking RFIs, change orders, and site instructions. Providing technical services, including: bridge/structure inspections, maintenance plans, load ratings, as well as other design services writing technical reports and reviewing proposals and estimates. As you grow in your leadership abilities, your job will transition to working together with the SK director of operations to do the following: Ensuring exceptional client relations, including: building relationships with new clients managing client communication during projects, communicating customer issues and devising ways for improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints. Building a people-centred southern SK Pier bridge team, including: providing guidance and mentorship to junior project managers supporting crews to ensure smooth operations implementing corporate policies and processes. Responsibilities will be added over time. Education and Experience Civil engineering degree with a P.Eng. designation Three plus years of project management and/or bridge engineering experience is preferred Five plus years of experience within the construction industry is preferred CAPM designation or equivalent (at least entry-level) is preferred Construction/carpentry experience is considered an asset Specialized training in timber structures is considered an asset Skills and Competencies Client-facing, internal, and written communication Planning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimating Conflict resolution Effective communication with trade contractors, citizens, and technical/design team Offering superb client experiences through effective management Juggling many responsibilities in the field and at the office Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and commitment to well-constructed projects Class 5 license Our Mission Bridges in rural Manitoba and Saskatchewan are being replaced instead of repaired or neglected instead of maintained, adding undue cost to taxpayers.
