Job Description
The Opportunity: ML6 has partnered with a dynamic and growing manufacturing organization in the search for a Buyer. As the Buyer, you will play a key role in the purchasing team by strategically sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services. This role involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective procurement. The Buyer will also maintain accurate records and foster positive supplier relationships. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the company's procurement success and drive cost savings. What You'll Be Doing: Lead procurement activities to ensure efficient sourcing and acquisition of goods and services. Collaborate closely with production department staff to maintain optimal inventory levels. Independently source potential vendors, negotiate prices and terms, and enter into purchase agreements or contracts. Conduct market research to assess supplier capabilities, pricing, and quality of products. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions. Proactively address any quality issues or concerns with suppliers to maintain product integrity. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications. Prepare and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Monitor the status of purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise. Support inventory management efforts by monitoring stock levels and replenishing supplies as needed. Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings through price negotiations, volume discounts, or alternative sourcing strategies. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements. Assist with data analysis, budget preparation, and forecasting of future needs. Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review. Ensure accurate and timely invoice processing by verifying approvals and providing necessary supporting documents. Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications. What You'll Need to Be Successful: 5 years of purchasing experience within a Manufacturing environment Post secondary education in related field Supply Chain Management expertise Strong computer skills, with experience in an ERP system Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong negotiation skills
