Construction Layout Specialist

About the Role: Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Construction Layout Specialist to join our team. The Construction Layout Specialist will be responsible for acquiring all site measurements and readings required for the specific project or stage of construction. They will be responsible for generating reports and findings when comparing the data to the master model. Responsibilities: Complete various field survey requests and measurements as assigned Provide site layouts for various stages of construction activities Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities Perform physical layouts for floors, walls, and ceilings as well as verification of dimensions, elevations, etc. Mark and label survey points, gridlines, and record field data according to job specifications Coordinate and maintain control network surveys, including traversing and levelling Review subtrade work to ensure and maintain consistency and quality of all work Conduct surveys of existing site geometry and features Ability to work with interior and exterior site conditions year-round Ensure survey equipment is maintained and calibrated Maintain up to date and accurate as-built drawings when required Provide clear survey notes and sketches for each layout complete Complete quantity take-offs as required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Additional education, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) Certification is an asset Ontario Land Surveyor License is an asset Minimum of 2 years progressive experience, ideally related to site services and working in and around residential type sites and towers Knowledge of the construction industry and construction specifications, methods, and procedures Ability to read and accurately interpret construction drawings Experience with operating total station, GPS & other survey equipment Technical understanding of software such as Revit and AutoCAD Ability to understand project schedules critical path Must be a team player with the ability to work within an integrated staff for field operations Effective oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to work under pressure and work irregular hours Valid Ontario driver’s license (G class) Why Fitzrovia: Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
