General Manager, 10 Dean About the Role: Fitzrovia is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our No. 10 café and bar located at the base of our brand new Elm – Ledbury residential tower . The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our in-house café and bar. No. 10 Dean serves a diverse array of offerings, including coffee, wine, beer, cocktails, and food, all crafted with a focus on the highest quality ingredients and execution to meet the exacting standards of our residents and guests. The General Manager will work closely with, and report to the Regional Manager, 10 Dean and lead a team of Baristas, Bartenders, and Cooks. This role is pivotal in driving the café and bar's success, from educating residents and guests on our offerings to ensuring the highest standards of preparation and service across all offerings, whether it's a perfectly brewed espresso or a signature cocktail. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all operational aspects of the No. 10 Dean café and bar, including the execution of a highly sophisticated coffee and bar program Deliver exceptional hospitality by actively seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectations in both café and bar services Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills and maintaining customer satisfaction Oversee the operations and staffing of the Elm – Ledbury 10 Dean location, ensuring operational excellence across all areas Monitor the profitability of both the café and bar, devising innovative methods to enhance revenue and efficiency Lead the bar program with expertise, overseeing the creation and presentation of a wide range of beverages, from specialty coffees to craft cocktails, ensuring consistency and quality Drive innovation through regular updates to both the café and bar menus, introducing new items, and ensuring the online presence is current and reflective of our offerings Manage the scheduling, training, and supervision of the Barista and Bartender teams, actively participating to maintain high standards of service and efficiency Foster teamwork and a positive work environment, leading by example and promoting collaborative efforts Oversee stock levels and manage ordering processes for both café and bar supplies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in inventory management Handle invoice management in accordance with Fitzrovia’s filing system, ensuring accurate tracking and cost management Take a hands-on approach in managing financial procedures, including cash handling, balance sheets, and transaction accuracy Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, directly influencing long-term partnerships Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and enforce liquor legislation and regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of both the café and bar areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene and ingredient handling Collaborate with the 10 Dean site team and Property Events to develop and enhance offerings, ensuring alignment with overall objectives Qualifications and Experiences: Bachelors degree, Diploma or Certificate in hospitality management is an asset Food Handlers’ and Smart Serve certified required Strong knowledge of specialty cocktails, beer and wine required 3 years of previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage operation Hospitality-driven, positive attitude, able to provide outstanding customer service Strong organizational and communication skills Confidence with espresso machines and creating a variety of beverages Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team Passionate about food and beverage, especially coffee and wine service Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines Self-motivated, curious, responsive, and result driven. Strong teamwork, decision & problem-solving and attention to detail.
