Senior Integration Architect

Integration Architect Contract - 6 month extendable Location - Toronto Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in office About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Integration Architect with a strong background in microservices architecture, Spring Boot, API gateway design, Kubernetes, and extensive implementation experience in AWS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing integration solutions that are scalable, robust, and aligned with the business goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems, applications, and services across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, design, and implement scalable integration solutions using microservices architecture. - Lead the design and development of API Gateway solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and optimized API communication between systems. - Work closely with development teams to build and maintain Spring Boot-based microservices and ensure effective integration between services. - Design and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience. - Leverage AWS cloud infrastructure to design and implement end-to-end integration solutions, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency. - Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business, development, and operations teams, to gather requirements and design solutions aligned with enterprise architecture. - Develop best practices and guidelines for API management, microservices deployment, and cloud-native application development. - Ensure integration solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards. - Troubleshoot integration issues and provide solutions for optimizing performance, scalability, and availability. - Document architecture, design patterns, and technical specifications for implemented solutions. Key Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 5 years of experience as an Integration Architect or in a similar role. - Strong experience with microservices architecture and hands-on experience with Spring Boot. - Expertise in designing and implementing API gateways and API management. - Proficiency with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment. - In-depth experience with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, S3, and other related services. - Solid understanding of security protocols, encryption, and best practices for securing microservices and APIs. - Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation. - Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, SOAP, and other integration protocols. - Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications: - AWS Solutions Architect certification or similar cloud-related certifications. - Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd. - Familiarity with serverless architectures and tools such as AWS Lambda. - Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data integration patterns.
