As the plant’s IT/OT network infrastructure reaches global standards, there may be opportunities for further advancement and expanded responsibilities within the organization. Reporting to ITSM Manager and dotted line to Global IT Infrastructure, the Senior Manufacturing Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure solutions within manufacturing environments. This IT role focuses on managing and securing the network infrastructure for both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) team's activities. You will collaborate closely with the OT team to ensure the network supports their systems effectively, optimize network performance, and address any network-related issues that impact production. A significant part of this role involves aligning IT network strategies with OT requirements, particularly following the Purdue Model, to enhance operational efficiency and security. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are making a significant investment in the Ivaco Rolling Mills plant to replace all networking components. This presents a unique opportunity for the right candidate to play a key role in a transformative project, driving the future of our plant's IT/OT network infrastructure. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and manage IT/OT network infrastructure to support manufacturing operations, with a strong emphasis on network security and segregation following the Purdue Model. Monitor IT/OT network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly the OT team, to ensure the network supports their systems and activities. Ensure network security by implementing IT best practices and responding to security incidents. Provide technical guidance and support to both IT and OT staff, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between the two environments. Participate in the planning and execution of IT/OT network-related projects, including assessments and upgrades. Maintain detailed documentation of IT/OT network configurations, processes, and procedures. PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Successful implementation and maintenance of IT/OT network infrastructure within established timelines, with a focus on network security. Reduction in IT/OT network downtime and security incidents. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between IT and OT network needs. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 10 years of experience in network Administration, with a focus on IT environments supporting OT in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching, with specific experience in IT/OT network security and the Purdue Model. Knowledge of the Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) model. Experience with network security best practices and technologies, particularly within OT environments. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent, with additional IT/OT-related certifications being highly desirable. Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) an asset Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices within IT environments supporting OT. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex IT/OT network challenges. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in both IT and OT environments. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing the demands of both IT and OT networks. Attention to detail and commitment to quality in IT/OT network documentation and security. Experience with network monitoring tools such as Zabbix, ServiceNow, and BeyondTrust, with an emphasis on IT/OT network monitoring. Familiarity with network design and configuration software, particularly for IT environments supporting OT. Primarily based at Ivaco Rolling Mills, with occasional remote work. May require occasional travel to other manufacturing sites globally. Ability to work in industrial environments with potential exposure to noise, heat, and dust.
