Job Description

We're seeking a dynamic Shift Supervisor to join our client's manufacturing team in Orillia, Ontario. As a Shift Supervisor , you'll play an important role ensuring the production processes run smoothly, and the employees are supported and engaged. Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Supervisor to oversee a team within their factory operations. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork. What We Offer: Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour - Expected hours: 42 per week Job Type/Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating continental schedule; 2 weeks of days (7am-7pm) and 2 weeks of nights (7pm-7am). On-site parking - Paid time off - Profit sharing What You'll Do: Leadership & Supervision: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of production workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment: Responsible for safety of self, colleagues and equipment is of primary importance. Be alert and on the lookout. Be prepared to take prompt preventative or corrective action. Ensure that shift members have complete knowledge and understanding of safe operating conditions of their respective equipment. ADP Time Management; entering, revising employee timecards, requesting vacation on behalf of employees, approving employee vacation requests, etc. Ensure accurate records are maintained. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and safety standards are met: Assist with the planning and implementation of the operational steps required to affect scheduled major product changes, start-ups and shutdowns, experimental work and special assignments that are requested. Conduct regular shift meetings as directed by the Management team to drive a culture of safety, efficiency and productivity. Work with Plant Manager to ensure necessary staffing and availability of day-to-day supplies for the achievement of the established manufacturing schedule. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste: Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise within day to day production. Analyze off-standard conditions and determine the necessary steps to eliminate such conditions by documenting adjustments and instructing colleagues. Off-standard conditions usually necessitate quick decision-making and action. Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and development for team members to build skills and encourage career growth. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment. Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership and team-building skills. Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive work environment.
