Job Description
Are you a motivated, community-minded, medical services professional with a love of customer service and sales? If you are looking for an important administrative role in an entrepreneurial environment where you can add value and gain work-life balance, this may be the role for you. This is an excellent in office opportunity for the right individual to play a key part in this well-established Kingston practice with direct ties to a dynamic Ottawa head office. The Opportunity Eastern Ontario’s leading provider of Laser Vision Correction and Refractive Cataract Surgery is seeking a dynamic, driven administrator with strong communication and sales skills to oversee the day to day operations of their busy Kingston office. This cutting-edge firm has been a leader in this field but there is always room to expand their reach. They offer a cohesive working environment where there are always challenging projects and opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be tasked with the opportunity to optimize patient services and office processes while proactively developing business in the Kingston community. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the frequent and direct contact with patients, referring optometrists and the general public to promote the benefits of care throughout the entire process. You will also be responsible for surgery coordination, communication with our medical team and staff, operations management, record keeping and marketing and business development (including overseeing a referral program). A comprehensive corporate job description is available. Keys to Success To be considered for this key position you must have at minimum of 2 years of customer service and/or direct sales experience. An ideal candidate will have prior experience in similar roles with ophthalmology, optometry (or other related medical fields) or experience in a private health clinic, but this is not necessary if you love to learn. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong computer skills. You can work both independently and as part of a closely-knit team while thriving in an often fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have a post-secondary education, be personable and diplomatic while always displaying a high level of professionalism in all dealings with staff, management, clients and other stakeholders within the community. You must be an ambitious, community minded leader with an innate natural drive to promote this successful business and seize new market opportunities. What We Offer There is an attractive compensation package (including benefits plan and free on-site parking) as well as the possibility of flexibility in your working hours. This role, particularly in light of the entrepreneurial nature of this dynamic firm, provides a rare opportunity to play a key role in both operations management and business development. You will have the ability to further develop a wide range of skills throughout the full scope of patient engagement, office coordination and sales functions. There is also the opportunity for regular trips to the Ottawa office. This office is located in Kingston’s desirable west end with excellent access to great shopping, restaurants and services. Please note that it is expected that a short list of candidates may be asked to perform a job-related task as an assessment tool for the hiring company.
