Data Migration Consultant - Manufacturing/Inventory

Data Migration Consultant "Hybrid" work environment - Ideally based in Edmonton or Calgary area. 12 month contract, high potential for extension Seeking consultant with experience in the "Manufacturing" or "Inventory Management" sector. Responsibilities: Build a data migration approach and plan for new system implementation Assess the current state of data and complete data gap analysis Document and monitor data dependencies Deliver upon data construction work plans to build critical data objects required for implementation but not currently available in the data sources Deliver upon a data cleansing work plan to address data quality issues Provide leadership to the data team for migration activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives Contribute to data cleansing, data construction, and data migration activities Assess historic data management options and make recommendations Assess critical reporting needs for remanufacturing and collaborate with vendors to meet these requirements During implementation, manage data dependencies, contribute to risk assessments, and ensure all data tasks are completed on schedule Desired skills and experience: Azure Data Factory (ADF): Manage ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows for migration Azure Synapse Studio / SQL Data Warehouse: Handle large-scale data transformations and warehousing SQL Server and T-SQL: Develop stored procedures, views, and SQL functions to manage complex datasets Power BI: Collaborate with the BI team to ensure reporting readiness and address data visualization needs Azure DevOps: Use for task management, version control, and tracking dependencies throughout the project lifecycle Data Modeling: Apply dimensional modeling concepts and develop ER diagrams to document data structures and ensure consistency ETL/ELT Tools and Techniques: Support integration, transformation, and construction of new data objects required for the new system Data Governance: Apply best practices for data cleansing, quality control, and security measures, including Azure Active Directory and RLS (Row-Level Security), to ensure appropriate data access $90 - $100 per hour for an incorporated consultant If you're interested, please apply with resume If you're a strong fit, I will be in contact quickly with additional information and next steps Best regards,
