Job Description

Python Developer 12 months contract, possibility of extensions Hybrid - 3x per week Downtown Toronto Insight Global is looking for Python Developers to join a growing team at one of the Big Banks in North America. This is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3 days a week onsite in Downtown Toronto. The qualified candidate will be developing and supporting a Regulatory Transaction Reporting controls application across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes for OTC Derivatives, FX, and Securities products. We are looking for someone who is extremely strong in Python and Object Oriented Programming and who has experience working in a multi-threaded or multi-processing database. Must Haves: 5-8 years of software development experience specifically very strong in Python. 5 years of experience with Object Orientated Programming experience. Experience working in a multi-threaded or multi-processing database. Excellent Agile development life-cycle experience. Strong knowledge of version control (i.e. git, svn, etc.). Testing (unit, integration, etc.), along with test automation. Distributed message system design/development. Working knowledge of Unix/Linux. Knowledge of how to build and use RESTful APIs. Excellent communication and a self-starter who is eager to learn and grow on the team. Plusses: Regulatory Transaction Reporting in CFTC/EMIR/MIFID jurisdiction AND should have good working experience with OTC derivative products with any OOP language. Strong Python experience in a development facility like SecDB or Athena. Rate between 75-85/h depending on years of experience and qualifications relative to requirements
