Desktop Support Specialist

Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support/ Command Centre Tech for a contract position with a client in Toronto, ON (Hybrid). Ideally looking for experience with troubleshooting failing migrations, Executing rollback procedures, Deployment Technician, network and domain technologies including DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory, preference would be someone with the required skills and experience, particularly in large organizations. Title: Command Centre Tech Location: Toronto ON M1W 3E8 Canada Job Description: • Based on a pre-approved list of users to be upgraded, initiate final integration and /or initiate in-place upgrade after the Deployment Technician contacts the Command Center • Track all issues related to the building. • Troubleshoot failing migrations. • Escalate if necessary if rollback procedures may be warranted (based on client-provided criteria) • Execute rollback procedures, if necessary • Report on the status of the entire conversion night. Knowledge and Skills • 5-7 years of work experience in IT environment and/or degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business • Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop platform and associated infrastructure • Familiarity and troubleshooting desktop platform, network, and application issues • Thorough understanding of network and domain technologies including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple competing deliverables • Excellent customer service skills • Good interpersonal skills when interacting with clients and co-workers • Ability to work in a team environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Influencing skills • Data driven decision making • Knowledge of financial services industry, and branch environment would be an asset
