Job Description SGS is looking for part-time Food Samplers across in Montreal. This is a work from home role NO experience required – we welcome applications from stay at home parents, retired individuals or anyone looking to supplement income. Hourly rate: $20 per hour This role is on one year contract with approximately 20 hours per week. Must be available to work on Mondays for 8 hours and Tuesdays for 8 hours and some other hours throughout the week Candidates must reside in Montreal as required by the role. Must possess a vehicle and valid Driving License; mileage will be provided at $.53 per km. Candidates must have a laptop to complete assigned tasks. A day in the life of an SGS Canada Food Sampler: Prepare assigned weekly and monthly sampling schedules. Collect samples from grocery stores, farmer’s markets, speciality stores, coffee/tea houses, juice bars and anywhere that sells packaged and bulk food. Ensure usable digital photos are taken after samples have been collected. Accurate data entry of sample information into workbooks. Complete appropriate paperwork that accompanies each sample prior to shipping. Purchase, store, pack and ship sample products without contamination and in accordance with SGS guidelines and Client guidelines. Ensure expenses, timecards and photos are completed on a weekly basis. Provide accurate and timely results. Ensure timely response to communication with admin team. Ensure sampling supplies and office supplies are sufficient for work assigned. Ensure work is done in a safe and proper manner to not affect physical or mental health. May be assigned to special or ad hoc projects as needed. Qualifications Requirements : Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or a General Educational Development equivalency (GED) Must have a class 5 drivers' license and reliable vehicle Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Experience / Assets: Few years of experience in fresh produce handling and storage would be an asset Knowledge of different types of foods and a variety of ethnic foods would be an asset. Knowledge of a variety of grocery stores, specialty foods stores would be an asset. Understanding of how to identify and read food labels. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Competent knowledge of Excel and Outlook Can follow very specific instructions and guidelines. Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Ability to work well with others & independently. Self-Motivating Good time management skills, highly organized and a strong attention to detail.
