The Opportunity: The Vice President, Investments will report to the Principal, Investments with primary responsibilities including analyzing investment proposals and sourcing new investment opportunities, leading due diligence on transactions, producing all internal and client documentation such as Confidential Investment Memorandums, and bringing together real estate market and economic research materials. The Vice President will work extensively with other members of the Investments team, as well as with members of the various portfolio management and operating teams. What You Will Do: Embrace and proactively support BGO’s Culture Code Preparation of financial analysis, cash flows, proformas, market reports and investor memoranda for various acquisitions, sales, and development proposals; including detailed reviewing of underwriting work completed by Associates and Analysts Lead due diligence efforts, including the coordinating of technical consultants, in conjunction with members of the broader BGO team (i.e. portfolio management, asset management, property management, leasing and other teams) Internal management and external investment committee material preparation, presentation development and detailed review / editing Assist with various BGO strategic growth initiatives and associated ad-hoc requirements Analysis of various property scenarios and opportunities, including acquisition structures, development options, lease transactions, financing alternatives and disposition strategies Interpret market and economic research and co-ordinate integration with analysis and preparation of investment memos Review Canadian investment transaction database and pipeline report Present investment opportunities to senior leadership team at regular pipeline meetings and investment committees Other duties as required Who You Are: You hold an undergraduate degree in real estate, commerce, finance, economics, math or engineering Completion or pursuit of a master’s degree or professional designation (MBA, CFA, CA, AACI) would be an asset 8 years of related industry experience (real estate company, appraisal firm, brokerage company) Extensive real estate industry relationships across multiple Canadian markets Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset A recognized culture carrier who will actively promote and embody the organizational commitment to our culture code and who brings a proven track record of advocating for and embracing EDI initiatives and promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered Relationship Skills – Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with all personalities; ability to exercise strict confidentiality Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure, manage and meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes; ability to use initiative and self-management skills to work independently with minimal direction and respond effectively to issues that arise; accurate and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Computer Skills – Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint; proficiency in Argus At BGO, we recognize that each employee’s unique experiences, perspectives, and viewpoints strengthen our ability to create and deliver the best value to our clients, partners, and stakeholders/investors.
