Firewall Specialist

Position: Firewall Specialist Location: Toronto, Hybrid (2 days onsite) Job Type: 12-month contract possibility of extension Key Responsibilities: Administer and manage next-generation firewalls. Review and implement firewall requests from cross-functional teams. Support day-to-day operations related to firewall governance and orchestration, contributing to the continuous improvement of maturity. Audit and maintain up-to-date documentation of current firewall policies, performing rule cleanup and optimization periodically. Troubleshoot issues on a daily basis and provide root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents. Monitor and respond to real-time network security events, implementing firewall changes in accordance with established change management processes. Provide incident response (IR) support when investigations confirm actionable incidents. Research and classify events, correlating and determining root causes of problems. Ensure adherence to relevant security policies and standards across all activities. Qualifications: Post-secondary technical degree (e.g. Computer Engineering or Computer Science) or diploma with a suitable combination of education and experience maybe considered. 5 years of experience in Cyber Security Relevant certifications (CISSP, GCIH, OCSP, CCIE-Security) preferred Extensive knowledge and expertise with the following technologies: - Next Gen Firewalls - Firewall Governance and Orchestration - DNS Firewalls - Web Application Firewalls (WAF) - Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) - Security Incident and Event Management Systems (SIEM) Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter to Sophie Yelland – Sophie.yellandquantum-qtr.com detailing their relevant experience.
