Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer (Contract Position) Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months initial contract Location: Toronto, ON, CA Must be eligible to work in Canada Hybrid position, 2-3d/w onsite downtown Toronto 1 Interview Hire. The interview will consist of both HR and technical questions, including assessing candidates' tech skills (in the form of coding challenge, online testing ect. ) review work history and ensure fit. Roles and responsibilities: This is a server driven UI project. This team consists of both front-end and back-and developers. This particular role is more backend focused. They key skillets are Java and Spring boot. AWS experience is also required. They run their own tests so looking for someone who has worked with Jenkins and has testing experience. Mobile development experience is required, either iOS or Android, ideally both. As the client is building a brand-new system - Therefore, this resource will also be writing documentation. Looking for somebody that has very good communication skills. This is a service team that services other groups within the organization. Any front-end development skills are a nice to have. Mobile experience is a big plus. Own application development tasks using Java technology and object-oriented methodologies Build and deploy AWS services, maintaining high regard for security and data protection. Build and maintain pipeline scripts for deployed services. Document new processes and methodologies for new development. Work within Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies Continuously improve software engineering, quality and security practices Must have skills and experience: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma 6 -10 years of application development experience Java, Spring Boot, AWS (MUST HAVE) At least 6 years of experience in Application Development using Java At least6 years' experience working with Amazon Web Services. At least 6 years of experience working with GitHub. Mobile (Android &/or iOS) experience (nice-to-have BUT would be strongly preferred and would put candidate at the top of the list) Outstanding communication (Written & verbal), initiative, collaboration Preferred Qualifications: 6 years of experience in Application Development using Java At least 3 years of use of Jenkins and CI-CD pipeline Experience with SQL or No-SQL databases, persistence (Hibernate) Experience using monitoring tools, Splunk and New Relic Experience with developing unit, performance, component testing
